Day 1 - St.David

St.David, a good starter for to-be geologists~it was sunny as well giving me a better impression of fieldtrip...I think there were 6 localities altogether. The sceneries were so pretty =') natural..i love it..the oceans...though i have to admit it was kinda warm that day...and I was adapting to this fieldtrip kind of thing since we had to be in the field around 6 hours so toilet? its totally a bad idea if you wanna do that thing in the middle of the fieldtrip.

anyways, we started off with inspecting this outcrop which consisted of laminations i think..it was greyish rock..there were igneous rocks as well which is the important bits among all in that day. We did some "reconnaissance" hope I spelled it correctly..its basically where students walk around the outcrop to observe important sedimentology features before we do something like drawing or making some notes about them.

And trust me there was lots of hiking involved and there was this locality where my height phobia couldnt withstand it anymore so i decided not to go to the lower part of the outcrop since we were facing the ocean..the view just gave me the creeps..good thing our sedimentology lecturer was an understanding type of person =D

We had lunch on an area where we can see the vast ocean stretched from the left end to the right end of the sky~dramatic jua lol..anyways, some of the staffs saw dolphins and i think some seals as well if im not mistaken but i didnt manage to see them though~my lost.

and yeah, the hiking just wont stop, to reach another locality we had to climb higher where we can see some iron components on the rocks hence giving it rusty-red looking colour!

and last bits are doing some strike and dip measurement using compass-clinometer! which to be honest, i was not sure how to use actually..so i was struggling over some time to finally understand how to take strike and dip of a plane!

so thats it, I learned a lot..it was tiring since to go back to where we were in locality 1, we had to climb down from the hill~a price to pay i guess but on the other hand, we get to see many beautiful natural stuffs!

i think we reached home around 8pm or maybe close to 8pm after shopping at Morrisons.
