Day 4 at Marloes started with doing some bits of pieces and spending quite some time at the beach with different sedimentary structures including cross-beddings and wave ripple crest marks. Had our lunch there too and there were SO MANY dogs that I told Maggie i am phobia of dogs~so if you were ther or one of the participants you can see me walking away from where i was sitting if there were dogs coming near -.-
I was so blurred with the task we were given since we had to observe the features and make some notes about them, plus we must give each of them a suitable name! we were told that there were at least few features that we can observe and i was clueless, lucky me there were staffs around that were happy to help me ^^ did our strike, dip and an extra bit which was the pitch on some of the planes, this time we had to take on the bedding AND the cleavage planes so I was puzzled in identifying bedding and cleavage planes that day. And after having our lunch, did some stereonets pieces with the data that we had obtained, well i used John Piper's(a lecturer) data instead X)
we also managed to see some red rocks with criss-cross like structures...I think they were resulted from some cracks due to simple stress which filled in by quartz and some tension gahes running through them..quite interesting but quite complicated especially to a first-year like me X)and i didnt tell you how we get to the locality yeah, due to high tides, we had to take an alternative route which involved climbing up again from the beach and climb down another hill where some of the pathways were quite narrow and surrounded by thornish plants X) so we had to be careful..it was kinda steep on our way down but we had to go though all of the bits since there were no other ways to reach that redstones with infillings of quartz and tension gashes!
